I have survived severe illness, which has severely impacted on my life and particularly on my wife and partner Joy. It’s been a matter of looking at life differently and adjusting to what I call my new normal.
The New Normal
Adapting to changed circumstances
‘The New Normal’ is not a catastrophe,
It’s unhelpful to dwell on what might have been,
‘What will Be’ is naught but a certainty.
Though illness may impact on ability,
Perfectly natural, maybe not foreseen,
‘ The New Normal’ is not a catastrophe.
Be positive, adapt, accept what will be,
No need to worry what the change all means,
‘What will Be’ is naught but a certainty.
Time’s wasteful studying a nosography,
Find what you can do and then intervene,
‘The New Normal’ is not a catastrophe.
To dwell on ‘what was’ is an absurdity,
A new world of adventure awaits the keen,
‘What will Be’ is naught but a certainty.
Approach the future with positivity,
The world out there is tough, but green,
‘The New Normal’ is not a catastrophe,
‘What will Be’ is naught but a certainty.
