A cloak of cloud hung in a windless sky,
Blue smoke from forest fires filled the valleys
When the Supascootateers came to try
The riverside path in our community.
Electric motors powered them onward
Beside the calm, silent, river waters,
Paused to admire the view, then forward
Again, on their mobility transporters.
Once more delighted to be outside and free,
Relaxed, laughing, aglow, enjoying the feel
Of once more riding in the company,
Of friends, unconstrained, loving time on wheels,
Boats swung at anchor in Lindisfarne Bay
Watching as the travelers passed that way.
