The Dark Web has enmeshed this world of ours,
Spreading its net, encircling the whole globe,
Emanating from Russia, exuding power,
Poising to strike, like some vile saprobe.
Optus and Medibank have fallen prey,
Our data stolen and ransomed at will,
Ten million identities, stolen that day
Leaving us waiting, worrying, poised until
We know if, how, or when we will be scammed
By inhabitants of the Evil, Dark side,
That lurk in the darkness, like some epiphragm
Encasing my being, daring me to hide!
“Be alert, not alarmed”, some old bugger said,
I’ll just watch and wait, carefully instead.
