Relief

{Covid lockdowns}

So many wait, worried, confused and scared,
Who stayed inside away from friends, colleagues,
Alone, shut off from work, a time unshared,
So starved of talk, so utterly fatigued.

Afraid to have contact with other folk,
They wear cloth masks outside, at work or play,
Apart, distanced, until officials revoke
The rules, when the virus all fades away.

The pubs all closed, cafes all shut, buses few,
Few jobs maintain a sense of normality,
And those locked up at home, endeavour to
Avoid despair and negativity.

Vaccine roll out is due to start quite soon,
Reset, restart, relief, over the moon!
