My shed is a place where I reflect, plan and do
Or just to escape from the daily milieu.
Though most of my projects are rather small,
I take great delight in making them all.

I frequent a shed of a different kind,
To meet with those of similar mind,
To meet with friends across the years
To share joys, experiences, sometimes fears.
This shed may shift from here to there
And in fact can be found – anywhere,
Particularly in cafes across the town,
Where lively conversations can be found.

Retired old chalkies from another age,
For an hour each week take centre stage,
Talking sport, politics and speculation,
And of times relived in education.
Hasn’t education gone to the pack since we left!
