Not Swallows and Amazons but Annells
And Edmunds cruising Tasmanian waters,
Dunalley to Southport bays and channels
In Yellow and Red; what joy they brought us.
Two Islander dinghies, twelve feet by six,
Two adults, two kids in each, skimming the waves,
Picnicking in sheltered coves, our weekly fix,
A course to adventure these vessels gave.
John, Viv., Rebecca and Danielle in Yellow,
Bill, Joy, Matt and Jem in the twin boat Red,
Kids both under the dodger in the bow
When unpleasant sea breezes reared their head.
Yes, we had such wonderful happy days,
Decades ago, where my mind sometimes strays.
