The summer solstice has been and gone, And yet the winter lingers on. Cold, southern winds blow relentlessly, Sleet peppers windows constantly, Snow covers highland towns and peaks No sign of the summer we seek.
But Christmas Day is here once again Despite watery sun and rain. A perfect day to enjoy a roast Ah, I like pavlova the most! Plum pudding and some fresh fruit salad Cap the beautiful meal we’ve had!
This Christmas is very, very cold Unlike warm sunny days of old. May life be filled with Christmas cheer, For I’m sure summer is nearly here, With time to bask in warming sun, Best wishes, glad tidings, to everyone!
