Vote Yes and we acknowledge in the constitution
The First Australians, - custodians of this land
For thousands of years. An important evolution
From our political past. Lifting heads above the sand,
Then walking united along a path to reconciliation.
Vote No and join the mundane, those in society
Who wish to maintain their advantage gained over years
Promoting; - division in preference to unity,
- Scare campaigns stoking mistrust and fears, and
- Using mistruths and lies to create uncertainty.
I look forward to celebrating a new Australia Day,
A day on which the referendum is fought and won,
When we begin our pathway to the future, in a way
That oppression and disunity are forever gone,
When;
fair go,
shared vision, and
inclusion, are here to stay.
